Kokikai technique is a modern form of self-defense based upon the Samurai arts. Our goal is to coordinate your mind and body to develop your “Strongest State” through self- defense and ki (universal energy) development exercises.
Kokikai Aikido develops a different, natural of power that will allow you to defend yourself against more powerful attackers; regardless of your age, size, or physical strength.
In Kokikai Aikido we do not defend ourselves by fighting or counter-attacking. There is no hitting, no sparring, kicking, or punching. When it is not possible to avoid a fight, we move out of the way of the attack. We use our natural power and the attacker’s aggressive force against them to throw or pin the attacker on the ground. Our goal is to defend ourselves without necessarily hurting others.
Kokikai Aikido practice centers around being relaxed, calm, and aware using natural movement to achieve your strongest state. As a benefit of practice, your stress levels will be reduced through training your mind and body to relax during stressful situations (such as an attack). With a calm mind, you are better able to see all alternatives for managing stressful situations. Students find their lives are truly enhanced through practice. They experience less stress, improved concentration and confidence during work, play and family time.
Our Four Basic Principles are:
• Keep one point (center) to develop calmness
• Develop your Positive Mind
• Relax Progressively
• Keep Correct Posture
