October Book Club Selection: The Dalai Lama’s Cat
The Dalai Lama’s Cat follows a mischievous, yet wise, cat who becomes the Dalai Lama’s constant companion after being rescued from a Delhi slum. Through the cat’s observations of the Dalai Lama’s daily life, celebrity visitors, and interactions within the monastery, the cat learns lessons about mindfulness, compassion, and the nature of happiness, offering a unique and humorous perspective on Tibetan Buddhist wisdom for a busy world. The Dalai Lama’s Cat is excellent for those who want to learn about Buddhist philosophy in a simple and fun way. Even if you’re not into Buddhism, it’s a fantastic read that will make you laugh and make you take a look at yourself and your own mindset.
