Lupin Book Club – “Radium Girls”

Join our monthly literary discussion group. The selected book for each month is published in the TWAL (This Weekend At Lupin) newsletter, available at the front desk and by email subscription. Discussions are moderated but informal, focusing on themes, characters, and reader interpretations. Participants are encouraged to prepare thoughts or questions about the book.

July Book Selection: Radium Girls

Discover the gripping and inspiring true story of these fearless women who fought against all odds. Radium makes gleaming headlines across the nation as the fresh face of beauty, and wonder drug. Hundreds of girls toil amidst the glowing dust of the radium factories that covers their bodies from head to toe making them light up the night like fireflies. These “shining girls” are the luckiest alive―until they begin to fall mysteriously ill. They become embroiled in one of the biggest scandals of the early 20th century, and in a groundbreaking battle for workers’ rights.

Typically held on the last Saturday of each month.

Time: 5 PM
